Considering that the pre-game ritual was shown on the telecast before every New Orleans Saints game last season, I’m surprised the secret lasted so long.
Regardless, fresh off the Super Bowl victory, Drew Brees, the spirited leader of the chant, felt it was now safe to reveal the mantra. He did so at a New Orleans bar called Lucy’s, and the video was posted on TMZ Sports. The pandemonium at the conclusion of the chant in the bar is exactly the spirit created before each Saints game this year. Transcription of the words, so you can follow along, is below the embedded video.
When I say one, you say two
When I say win, you say for you
One (two), win (for you)
When I say three, you say four
When I say win, you say some more
Three (four), win (some more)
When I say five, you say six
When I say win, you say for kicks
Five (six), win (for kicks)
When I say seven, you say eight
When I say win, you say it’s great
Seven (eight), win (it’s great)
When I say nine, you say ten
When I say win, you say again
Nine (ten), win (again)
Win (again)
Win (again)
Win (again)
